Every project involving composite materials has its own structural requirements, site conditions and operational demands. Our design and structural engineers work with project teams to understand those requirements and develop a solution around them.

For an electrical facility, that might mean designing cable trench covers around the correct load class, access requirements and electrical safety considerations. For a wastewater facility, it could involve engineering an odour cover system that resists corrosion while allowing safe access for maintenance.

Our composite materials engineering team can assess loads, spans and deflection, determine support requirements, and account for features such as penetrations, hatches and cable entries. We also consider panel weights, sealing requirements and installation methods as part of the overall design.

We design against relevant Australian standards, including:

• AS/NZS 1170 for structural design actions
• AS 3996 for access covers and grates
• AS 4586 for slip resistance

We also provide the drawings, structural calculations and documentation needed to support client reviews and authority approvals.

• Project review and site measure – assess the brief, drawings, specifications and site conditions.

• Concept design – develop initial drawings for review and sign-off.
