STEPPING IT UP: CREATING SUSTAINABLE HIKING TRAILS WITH COMPOSITES
Thousands of hikers trek the 7km return route up Mount Sturgeon in Grampians National Park every year to enjoy the panoramic views of the southernmost point of the ranges.
Wanting to improve the safety and accessibility of the trail to create a better functioning ‘loop’, Parks Victoria reached out to Terra Firma to help deliver a solution that could improve the path while still preserving the natural environment and respecting the integrity of the trail.
It was a high-risk area that posed many unique challenges, but the effort and investment proved more than worth it
